2025 is the year that we commemorate "Victory in Europe" in 1945.

Families and communities across the nation will be coming together to unite and celebrate 80 years of peace since the end of Word War II in Europe. VE Day 80 is not only a tribute to those who fought for the freedom we all enjoy today, but also a powerful reminder of the resilience and unity that have defined our country ever since.

Pontyclun will be joining in these celebrations with a special event on Bank Holiday Monday 5th May 2025

We will commence from noon with a short service to commemorate the adding of 3 new names to the War memorial.

This will be followed by a Community event in Pontyclun park.

This will feature a variety of food and drink stalls, military re-enactments, music and even a free assault course for you to try out - family races are especially encouraged!

This event is the first event this year that is part of our 175th anniversary celebrations and we are delighted to thank our sponsors for their support for this and the other events this year.

This year's sponsors are - Elizabeth Jones law, JNP Legal, Leekes and Little Inspirations nurseries.
