Starting in the centre of Miskin go down along Hensol Road go over the railway past Chapel House and Miskin Mill. Keep going on this road and just after you go under the M4 turn right onto the footpath that follows the lane going parallel to the M4.

At the top of the slope as it turns sharp left, cross into the field ahead and follow this down until the path splits. Take the half-left path down through the trees. At the bottom of the hill turn right and follow the path into the trees through a gate and over the stream.

Follow the path up the hill and exit over the stone stile. If you go right that will take you towards Talygarn Manor, but we are heading left down the lane, left again at the junction and keep going till you reach the lake. At this point if you fancy a detour go right along the lakeside towards Talygarn manor and Adam’s bridge which you can see at the far end of the lake and then come back.

Keep on the lane crossing the bridge and directly left onto the footpath straight after. Follow this path through the trees and into fields. In due course it reaches a lane and you follow this until it reaches a T junction at a road. Go left and follow the lane and then right at the next T Junction.

Follow this road and after about 200m there is a gap in the hedge line on the left with a gate. Go through this and down the field to the gate at the far end by Caergwanaf isaf farm. Behind the farm lie two late prehistoric enclosures (there is no public access to these)

Go into the farmyard and turn immediately left. The path goes between the two barns and straight out towards the M4 in the distance. Follow the right hand side of the fields through two gates until you reach the M4. On your left in the valley you can see some houses and just behind them the roof of Pantaquesta House.  When you reach the M4 boundary turn left and go parallel to the road. At the far right there is a stile onto the road and turn right to go back into Miskin.
