Freedom of the Town 2025

Winners of Freedom of the Town with CouncilChair

Earlier this year the Council announced that we would be inagurating a Freedom of the Town award and requesting nominations from the public.

We were humbled by the nominations received which recognised and celebrated the remarkable individuals who have gone above and beyond for our town. These are the people who, through quiet dedication or bold leadership, have made a lasting impact on our community.

They’ve built bridges, lifted others, and reminded us what it means to truly belong to something greater than ourselves.

The Councillors had a difficult choice to narrow the list down to 5 people.

All five of our first award winners have shown incredible dedication over many years. Some have had a high profile, others just worked tirelessly in the background to help local organisations.

The Council is delighted and proud to announce the first 5 winners of the Freedom of Pontyclun are:-
