Cantorion Pontyclun

Cantorion Pontyclun

This is an all Ladies Choir whose main function remains to raise funds for Charities and these include Kidney Research, The Brain Injury Trust, The British Heart Foundation, Bridgend Young Carers and the Alzheimer’s Society.

The Choir has toured in Bratslava and Vienna (2008) and a memorable tour to Krakow, where it sang in several large Cathedrals, the Salt Mines and at Auschwitz (2011). The Choir has also shared the stage with the Bridgend Male Voice Choir and the Ynysown Male Voice Choir and Llantrisant Male Voice Choir.

The Choir meets on a Tuesday evening, 7:30 – 9:30pm, at Café 50. New comers always welcome!

Forgotten Felines

We specialise in rehoming cats that are feral or disabled.

We have been going since 1st June 2018 and rehomed over 20 special kittens and cats.

Lantrisant and District Local History Society

We research local history and stimulate interest in local history among local people.

In the winter months we meet on the second Tuesday of each month at 7pm at Pontyclun Community Centre. There are guest speakers inn Autumn, Winter and Spring.In the summer months we visit places of historical interest.

Retirement is something to be enjoyed ...

... come and join your local Probus Club. Here you'll find retired men from all walks of life who enjoy each others' company for about an hour and a half each month. We usually have a chat over a cup of coffee, listen to a speaker on a topical subject, and plan for other activities such as trips and meals out.

Just turn up and try us - no obligation.

The Llantrisant and District Probus Club meetes on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 10:00 at Pontyclun Rugby Club (near the station).

Our annual subscription is £25

During the season, Juniors play Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings; Seniors on Saturdays

Our club aims to promote a healthy outdoor competitive team sport specifically for women of all ages and abilities. We bowl between April and September each year on the green at Pontyclun Athletic Club.

Games last for 2 1/2 to 3 hours starting at 2p. 2-3 games a week in summer season

Our association provides a meeting place for OAPs to meet, socialise and take part in activities.

Netball group based in Pontyclun. We encourage , support and welcome netball for all ages (over 16) and abilities.

Training at Y Pant school Mondays 7.30-9pm

We play in social and competitive leagues on Tuesday, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Our aim is top bring back fun into fitness for those who haven't played since school, for new mums who want their bodies back, but cannot face a gym, or those who want to make new friends and join a social network, and of course for those who love netball!

Were not just a netball team, we are a huge family who support each other on and off the court

Petanque, or boule, is a game which is exceptionally open with a huge age range.

Established in March 2014 the Pontyclun Petanque Club is looking for new members! All experience levels are welcome from past masters to total newbies!

Some of our members have played at National level with several having qualified for Regional and National competitions representing Wales and some having only played a couple of games as an excuse to get out in the sunshine and enjoy the fresh air and a beer / wine afterwards!

If you've never played, and have no idea what it is, drop us a message and we'll let you know when we're next having a practice session which you're welcome to watch but would always be encouraged to take part in! If you can throw a tennis ball the length of an estate car you have everything you need to start!

Pontyclun W.I. believes having fun. We welcome women of all ages and backgrounds. We meet on the third Tuesday of each month at 7pm in Pontyclun Community Centre.

It is an opportunity to meet monthly with like minded women. We have speakers of interest followed by tea and chat! Outings, theatre visits, walking groups, and lunches out are regularly available. For those wishing to learn new skills or hobbies workshops and events are organised. The WI has its own residential college and we have taken ourselves away for 4/5 day trips - always great fun.

The St. Paul’s Players are a collection of local volunteers from in and around Pontyclun, who for charity every year dust off their vocal chords, neon wigs and pantaloons to perform for their adoring public! This well established and beloved local treat has been going since 1983!
