  • Welcome to Cafe 50

    We are a social centre for any person over the age of 50 who would like the opportunity to socialise and meet new people.

    We offer a variety of activities as well as a lunch service Monday to Friday. Our 2 course lunch includes a cup of tea and coffee and is served from 12pm to 1pm for £4.50.

    Drop In - You don't need to book for lunch or activities, you can drop in as and when you please during our opening times. However if you prefer, one of us can meet you to show you around and introduce you to everyone. Just give us a call to arrange this.

    Some of the September highlights are

    Monday:

    9.30 to 11.30 weekly: Welcome Friends Craft Club. Enjoy yourself knitting, doing craft, playing rummikub and chatting

    1.30 to 3.30pm 2nd & 4th Monday of the month: Afternoon Social Support Group. A friendly and welcoming group offering support for those living with dementia and their carers, family and friends.

    Tuesday:

    10:15 to 11:15 weekly: Mature Movers. A low impact workout - Get your heart rate up and burn calories while seated. Cost £3.00.

    1.30 -2.30 - join the Tuesday Quizzers and stretch your grey cells a bit!

    Wednesday:

    1.30 -3.30 - 2nd and 4th Wednesdays join the Cafe 50 Flamingos for indoor kurling

    Thursday:

    10:00 to 12:00pm weekly: Yarnmongers -Knitting and Crochet. Come along and enjoy yourself knitting, chatting and have a cup of tea.

    12:30 - 1:30 - Thursday 27th Sept. Cuppa with a Copper. Chance to speak to your local PCSO about any local issues or concerns you may have.

    Saturday:

    10:30 Tai Chi. Easy excercise to help posture and balance

  • Hire out Cafe 50

    Cafe 50 is also available to hire for evenings and weekends to either groups for their regular meeting or individuals for a meeting or perhaps to celebrate a family event.

  • Come along to our 1918 themed Afternoon tea at Cafe 50.

    Enjoy a singalong with the Pontyclun primary school choir and sample the tea and cakes.

    Pontyclun U3A: Anyone can join as long as they are in their "third age", that is they are retired or semi-retired. U3A members form interest groups that cover as wide a range of topics as they desire.
